Nativity Collection
In 2000, when my oldest children were just five and four years old, a family member helped them paint a nativity for me. I had been collecting nativities and had mentioned wanting unique ones. Well, they delivered! Little did I know that this simple craft would grow into a beloved family tradition.
Each year now since 2011, I choose a new craft style, and we gather to make our handmade Christmas nativity. Every family member participates, even the little kiddos. We help the younger ones when needed, but they do the work themselves, and we let their creativity speak. We always have the best time together—talking, laughing, and growing closer as a family.
Now that some of our children live farther away, we make them whenever we get the chance, whenever we’re together. But no matter when or where it happens, it remains one of my favorite family traditions.
